On May (Eliot was wrong, May is the fucking cruelest month).
(What I wore, classes to take, objects I love, things I left the house for (gasp), and SO MANY BOOKS. The problem for me, with writing, is that is's not reading.) (read this in app or browser srry.

Yes, I said classes because I am insane. But I have some recommendations! And one of my own!
The People’s Forum. I took a class recently on Zionism (which you can still do, self -paced, but they have some other offerings that look great.) I received a scholarship for this!
Genderfail’s amazing Zine class. I was honored to get selected for a scholarship, holla. It’s a lot of work and I am getting a crash course in indesign oof but brilliant.
Anything offered by Night School Bar and the Brooklyn Institute. I wish Night School Bar offered more online class but they have an online lyric memoir course coming up and some other online classes as well. They also offer scholarships and a sliding scale.
Art classes! Look for them at your local museums and galleries, pottery studios and paper stores! Or even the local CC because that tuition can be cheap for a class if you are in state.
I hate May, I hate summer, I always have. Sometimes classes help stave this off.
Speaking of crafts/stores, I made this cute little bag charm at the Roommate Collective Birthday party! Loving this trend.

I know another tote bag won’t save my life (right? right?) but if I get a big kid kid job this might be it.
I got the skirt in the Gunne Sax x Modcloth Collab and I LOVE IT. I have been off Modcloth for years now but this collaboration is amazing. Eyeing the dress I cannot afford now.
My first ever digital business cards!

I needed new post its, so hearts, am I right? I am a huge horror fan and I love love Grady Hendrix. But Witchcraft for Wayward Girls is different (different good). It’s horror but about the kind of horror created by humans. I usually end up crying at a Hendrix novels for very different reasons (PUPPETS), but this hit me in the gut. Please give it a try even if you aren’t a a horror person. I got this “mid century” lol magazine rack to hold my laptop, tablet, e-reader, remarkable and WOW what a great idea. I am a huge fan of Suleika anyway, but the Book of Alchemy is an amazing read and just a beautiful object. Wednesday Holmes is one of my favorite illustrators and while I don’t always love affirmations combined with the art work this book is fabulous. These Tee Shirts are way more amazing than they have any right to be? I have 3 I think. They go on sale a lot, do not spend more than 8 dollars.
Ok, Gaza is starving. I know I can’t make you care if you don’t already but maybe I can encourage you to donate to any of these vetted funds! Thank you to
et al. for doing so much of this work.

If you want to support Nara, check out her book! There are various price points as well as Zine’s too! Also you can donate to her fund directly here and learn more about her story! Nara is a 34 year old disabled Palestinian Mom and absolutely needs our support.

some recent ish fits. Madewell Crop (2024?) with the above mentioned Madewell x Gunne Sax Skirt at an old Austin stand by Bouldin Creek Cafe. Earlier the same day at the “Affordable Art Show” (obsessed), wearing a Green Oversized Tee (Dressed in Lala), Gunne Sax skirt, my beloved handmade bolo tie by Bunny Dee, my teal Ariat cowboy boots (sold out but linking another teal pair I covet), and a horizontal duck bag Baggu. My head is cut off LOL but I paired a paramore tee with a dressed in LaLa Skirt and DR. SCHOLLS. And finally, Tuesday of California always wins. This one is only available resale but SO recommend.

THIS FUCKING BOOK. How did it capture something so human, so deeply felt?

Me, trying to describe myself to my zine class. LOL.

more recent reads. All I want is to be book Ken, AKA, “my job is book.” Alas.
Being able to spend my time going to Ashwell TX events has been amazing.
