New Paid Subscriber Benefits
Public Writing for Graduate Students Workshop, SNAIL MAIL, zines, PITCH EDITING, and the knowledge that you are helping an adorable enby writer/abolitionist finish their godforsaken PhD.
All of my posts will remain free, at least for now. I want people to read my work. I want everyone to be able to read my work. But if you subscribe, there are still benefits besides my eternal love and gratitude.
Access to my e-course, Public Writing 101: An Introduction for Graduate Students (which is also suitable for academics at all levels entering freelance journalism). This course includes a Notion with a ton of resources, pitch templates, examples of pitches that have worked, editors that I suggest working with, and more. It also includes a huge workbook of information and slides. This is a 500 dollar value, which I sell for far too cheap, that you can access for free with a monthly commitment.
Downloads of any zines I make. Right now this includes “How 2 Support Trans Texans” but will soon involve a Zine about my cat, adaptly named “I am Petunia.”
Downloads (not to be shared) of any of my paywalled writing.
MAIL, REAL SNAIL MAIL. It will include a mini art print (I will choose unless you have a preference and then you can tell me what you want!), a postcard, stickers, ephemera of all sorts, anyone who who has gotten mail from me knows. Also, the opportunity to become my PEN PAL (just write me back darling). So if you want more stickers and postcards and fun, just write me back.
If you support at the yearly level, you get all of the above and:
1. I will edit 2 pitches per year (of membership) with the hope that you will tell all of your friends to support me.
2. I will edit your academic CV once (and the thoroughness of these edits depend immensely on the length of the CV). I am weirdly good at this and also love it.
Other ways to support:
Buy something from my amazon wishlist (I KNOW THEY ARE EVIL)
Use my affiliate links (I will link an updated post soon, but this IS SO HELPFUL).
Buy a “Gilmore Gays” shirt (also new merch coming shortly)
